High five girl
I met this beautiful girl in South African township. Do you know what does the word ‘township’ means? Townships are underdeveloped urban living areas that were reserved for non-white residents (black Africans, coloreds and Indians) from the late 19th century until the end of apartheid. If you are planning your trip to South Africa don’t miss to visit one of the townships. That will open your eyes and make you understand better the history of apartheid and how the ‘Rainbow Nation’ truly lived and still live.
Looking into the distance…
I saw this boy in the Cape Town city centre, he was preforming traditional African dances in front of the ‘tourist’ market to earn some money. I was impressed with his moves and sense of rhythm.
Lady in the Langa Township
The township of Langa is truly the place where the heart of the nation beats. To experience the warmth, friendliness and humanity of township residents, you have to walk its streets. They are amazing and very different from the rest of the people in the city of Cape Town.
You know dear, the thing is…
On the streets of the Langa Township, interesting people everywhere! If you are planning your trip to South Africa don’t miss to visit one of the townships. That will open your eyes and make you understand better the history of apartheid and how the ‘Rainbow Nation’ truly lived and still live.
I captured this man on the streets of Cape Town, in the city center. He stood like this for ages, just smoking and watching people passing by (with his umbrella, although it was sunny and nice day, all day).
Beautiful ‘township’ lady
This is one of the nicest people I have every met! I saw her in the Langa Township and she instantly invited me to her house for a meal. She wanted just to talk and get to know me, that kind of hospitality you can not see every day, right?
