Quit a job to live my passion and dreams, can I do it?
Before I began to live a life of travel I’ve worked in an insurance company from 9 to 5. Every day I’ve been covered in paperwork and excel sheets. I had a great boss and a very nice paycheck. But I was not happy or fulfill.
My life had reached a routine – whereby I would go to work, eat, sleep, and repeat. It wasn’t not a life I’ve been dreaming about. It was not a life full of adventures and unforgettable moments from all over the world. I have been living that life by reading travel blogs of people who decided to live their passions.
I had to do something. I was dangerously depressed because I didn’t have courage to leave security and comfort. My head was full of questions. What if my dreams are not realistic? How will I pay my bills?
Without having answers to all questions, after 5 years of working in finance, at the age of 28 I finally decided to change my life.
I left my job. I didn’t had a backup plan and I didn’t know how will I make money for a living. I just knew I wanted to travel the world. So I booked a one way ticket to Bangkok (although I’ve never traveled out of Europe before).
At first I was very afraid. For the first time in my life I didn’t have fixed plans or everything planned ahead. I was scared and excited at the same time. From the moment I stepped out of the plane on the other side of the world I knew I was doing the right thing.
I spent the most amazing few months of my life in Southeast Asia. New people, new cultures, new food, everything NEW! I was thrilled. In few months I’ve learned more about ‘who I am’ than in my entire life. Also, I’ve found my new passions like photography!
When I came back home I’ve started to learn more about photography and I’ve finished a tour guide course. So nowadays I get paid to travel the world. How cool is that? And when I’m not traveling with a group of tourists I travel solo. Finally, I live the life I’ve always dreamed about!

How to live a life of passion and adventure?
You should follow your heart. Whether is it to travel the world or work in finance. It is essential that this is ‘something’ that makes you happy. ‘The best thing you can do for yourself is to live a life that’s fulfilling and do all the things that make you happy.’
It took me years to have a courage to quit my job and ‘to go outside my comfort zone’. I know all this sounds like a cliche, but it really is like that. Until you don’t leave your comfort, secure zone you’ll never know how it feels good to live your passions.
Achieving your dreams is never easy. It’s unsecured, scary and frustrating sometimes. But it’s very rewarding if you have a courage to ‘step into the unknown’. Fortune favors the brave! There is always something that will ‘open’ on your way. Just don’t let your life to ‘pass’ you by.
After years of full-time traveling
Today I don’t own nothing, I have no real estate, car or savings on my bank account. I don’t have permanent work or long-term plans. I don’t know when my next paycheck is coming. And it doesn’t matter any more. I feel richer than ever!
In the last few years I’ve experienced so much and collected memories for the next two lives. That’s the real fortune. I don’t care about my bank account balance. You can always make money, but you cannot always make memories!
Keep moving on. Improve my photography. Help more to those who need it most through volunteer programs and other humanitarian projects.
If you feel the desire to see the world or to do whatever makes you happy be brave, make a move and just go! If I could do it, anyone can! Live the life of your dreams. Just trust yourself, take chances and follow your heart. Lose yourself and travel! Sometimes it will be hard, you will feel lost and afraid but most of the time – you’ll have the time of your life!
